SCIENCE OUTREACH

We've recently done hands-on science workshops with girls at Camp Atwater, the first and oldest Black-owned and operated summer campsite in the United States for boys and girls ages 8–15. The camp is owned and operated by the Urban League of Springfield. We taught students about water pollution, its effects, and how to clean it up. We also taught students about bacteria, what they look like, and how to use them to make paint.
